The University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested that colleges and universities implement the Cyber Security course syllabus for undergraduate and graduate students. On October 6, 2022, the UGC announced the syllabus for the Cyber Security course in honor of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas.
According to UGC, the curriculum intends to raise awareness and develop more receptive, accountable, and healthy digital citizens, who are essential to a robust ecosystem and posture for cyber security.
The UGC has requested that all vice-chancellors and college principals take the necessary actions to adopt the Cyber Security Course syllabus at the undergraduate and graduate levels in all streams in a letter it sent to all of them.
syllabus for undergraduate courses in cyber security: Cybersecurity basics, cybercrime, and cyberlaws, social media security and overview, e-commerce and digital payments, digital device security, and tools and technology for cybersecurity are all covered.
Practicals include a basic checklist, social media platform privacy and security settings, security patch management, and Wi-Fi security management for computers and mobile devices, among others.
The PG syllabus for cyber security: Overview of data privacy, data security, data privacy and security regulations, cyber security management, compliance, and governance.
Practicals include creating password policies for computers and mobile devices, outlining security measures for mobile phones, and putting technical security measures into place in individual mobile phones, among other things.
