Join RCM’s Summer Internship Program

What is the Summer Internship Program at RCM?

As a step in the process of strengthening the industry-institute relationship, RCM conducts a summer internship program for MBA, MA in Tourism Administration, and PGDM students. The Summer Internship Program cell communicates with various companies and corporate houses well in advance to get their permission to accommodate our students for the Summer Internship Program throughout the months of May and June each year. Students have a wide range of options for picking the industry, location of training, and topic for their project work. They go to the industry and meet with corporate leaders to settle the scope and other aspects of the project work. Back-at home, faculty members thoroughly guide students through challenge identification, data collection, analysis, and interpretation to arrive at feasible solutions and implementable proposals. When the project is finished, under the direct supervision of the faculty advisor, the students create presentations and present them for evaluation.

RCM has earned a significant edge in this process of industry contact, and corporate houses are more likely to choose our students for ultimate placement because of their excellent performance during the Summer Internship Program.

Why is the summer internship given to students of MBA, MATA, and PGDM at RCM?

Students, because they are the sectors that have been developing and emerging at a breakneck pace, confronting the market environment.

The summer internship not only boosts the students’ confidence but also builds their ability to gain and stand out in the practical management place. The RCM has a vibrant Summer Internship Program Cell which inducts students into a 2-month project work with the industry and a Summer Internship Program for industry exposure and great placement opportunities to help prospective students establish an amazing professional career.

How and where the students are placed for the summer internship program ?

The Regional College of Management provides a unique summer internship program in which the students are split based on their educational streams, or they can work on any vertical that interests them. The Summer Internship Program involves around 200 firms from a wide range of industries, including

  • Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCD )

Several FMCG and consumer durable enterprises (including ITC, Nestle, Parle Agro, Colgate Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, and Coca-Cola) have expressed interest in providing our students with Summer Internship training. The students had a genuine interest in studying organizational challenges and were able to make important suggestions for adoption in the firm after conducting a comprehensive investigation.

  • Investing/Insurance /Money and Finance

The organizations like Banks, Insurance companies and other financial institutions including ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank etc. have shown an interest in hiring RCM students for the Summer Internship Program. Our students performed well during their summer internship and were able to propose useful answers to some of their main concerns.

  •  Manufacturing industries

Under the capable leadership of faculty members, RCM students have completed exceptional projects in the manufacturing industry. They have worked in finance, marketing, and human resources and have provided them with various insights. Maheshwary Ispat, Kurl – on, Scan Steels, Mahindra Tractor, Orissa Cement, and Visa Steel are among the manufacturing businesses. Our students profit greatly from SIP in the above-mentioned firms as well.

  • Industries in the power sector

RCM faculty members are constantly in contact with power sector industries to understand their organizational concerns and provide effective solutions to their problems through our students’ Summer Internship Program. RCM has also been a preferred choice of corporate and public sector companies for delivering Summer Internship Programs to students over the years. Industries like NTPC, TTPS, NALCO, OCL, and Manikaran Power regularly offer Summer Internship Programs to our institution, and the academic derives from such industry-institution engagement.

During the second trimester, students are informed about the significance of the Summer Internship Program and its relevance to the industry. Prof. Sushant Nanda, an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management with over three decades of significant experience in industry and academia, leads the Cell. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Sahoo, Mr. Malaya Das, and Ms. Narmada Nayak are members of the team. After the project is completed, permission is sought from the industry guide who certifies it, and a presentation is made before a committee composed of Internal and External Faculties. The evaluation is done in its totality. Many of the students also receive PPOs for great performance throughout the summer internship program. Over 200 organizations engage in RCM’s Summer Internship Program, and students often have two alternatives to select from. After the logistics of locations, and verticals are determined, a detailed examination of the project’s domain is performed at the micro level, and a faculty guide (with research competence in the area) is assigned.

RCM is a big believer that learners can gain hands-on experience from companies by being presented to the industry and business environment, meeting with their personnel, learning their strengths and difficulties, and attempting to provide implementable solutions. They acquire a lot of confidence in their grasp of professional reality, which helps them perform well in campus interviews.
