The National Testing Agency (NTA) examinations must only be held in legitimate, government-run locations, according to the ABVP, which also sought an increase in the number of CUET exam centres.
In order to address the issue of the increased financial burden placed on students as a result of being required to pay separate registration fees for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and for admission counselling at various universities, a delegation of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) met with University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar in Delhi.
The delegation demanded that the process be simplified and the burden reduced by charging the students once for the entire process. A press statement said, “ABVP has demanded that common counselling be conducted in universities under CUET, similar to how the process is carried out for IITs and NITs”
The National Testing Agency (NTA) examinations must only be held in legitimate, government-run locations, according to the ABVP, which also sought an increase in the number of CUET exam centres.
The ABVP additionally urged that the NTA make all required preparations in advance so that students would not experience any difficulties during the last-minute CUET exam.
“A large number of students are participating in the CUET, so it is necessary to simplify the admission process by simplifying the counselling process. Fees should be charged only once during the entire admission process to ensure the students’ financial convenience.
Every possible effort should be made to ensure full transparency and integrity in the examinations. The common counselling process for University admissions will make things easier for students.” said ABVP national general secretary Yagyawalkya Shukla.
