Metaphor Mic is a fierce rap battle where lyrical creativity and rhythmic flow determine the champion.
Rappers step into the spotlight to deliver powerful verses filled with wordplay, storytelling, and punchlines. Participants may perform freestyle rap or prewritten verses, engaging the audience with energetic delivery and commanding stage presence.
This competition celebrates hip-hop culture, lyrical intelligence, and the power of rhythm and poetry.
Rules & Regulations Follow the rules, steal the spotlight.
- Performance Timing: Each participant is allotted a 3 to 5-minute set; exceeding this time limit may result in negative markings.
- Lyricism & Originality: While the competition is open to all styles, original lyrics are preferred; the use of explicit, abusive, or vulgar language is strictly prohibited.
- Audio Requirements: If using a backing track, it must be in MP3 format and submitted one day prior to the event.
- Judging Criteria: Contestants will be evaluated based on their flow (rhythmic delivery), wordplay (lyrical creativity), and stage command.
- Finality: Any violation of conduct or content standards may lead to disqualification, and the judges’ decision is final.
