The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the legal body and a national-level council for technical education. Established in 1945, AICTE was first considered as an advisory body and was later given statutory status by an Act of Parliament in the year 1987. AICTE comes under Department of Higher Education, and Ministry of Human Resource Development and it is the responsibility of AICTE to accurately plan and develop the technical and management education system in India. This is the reason why every student prefers to get their management degree from an AICTE approved PGDM institute. As per the AICTE ACT no. 60 2004, AICTE is in charge for quality assurance through school accreditation, monitoring, funding in priority areas, and making sure that there is better coordination as well as cohesive development and management of technical education in the country.
