Recently, the UGC published a public notice warning students and other stakeholders not to enrol in the Open International University for Alternative Medicines and the National Board of Alternative Medicines.
There is always a rush among students to apply for admission to their preferred academic institutions as admission season approaches. However, a lot of students who don’t acquire the seat they want can are duped by a number of false colleges or schools that aren’t accredited by the government of the country.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has been providing updates and data on self-styled universities on a regular basis. The UGC has sent a public notice warning students and other stakeholders not to enrol in the National Board of Alternative Medicines and Open International University for Alternative Medicines.
The UGC had stated in its notice that these schools were offering a number of degree programmes/courses in a flagrant violation of the UGC Act, 1956.
“Students and other stakeholders are cautioned not to take admission in the above-mentioned self-styled institutions, as taking admission in such self-styled institutions may jeopardize the career of the students,” the UGC notice read.
Additionally, a warning had been issued against Pakistani educational institutions by the UGC and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which supports technical education in India.
It was advised in a joint statement that Indian students should not enrol in any college or other educational facility in Pakistan. According to the UGC, as per a report by DNA, students studying education in Pakistan will not be eligible to seek jobs and higher education in India.
