RCM Freshers Party 2019: A Grand Welcome with Unique Themes

PGDM Freshers Party 

The Freshers Party for PGDM students of 2019-21 had a unique theme this year, adding a vibrant touch to college life. Senior students chose the “Hawaiian Theme” to welcome the new batch, making the Freshers Party a memorable start to their journey. The entire stage decoration and dress code created an ambiance reminiscent of the famous Hawaiian Islands. Students embraced the spirit of celebration, dressing in colorful flowery shirts and gowns, adorned with garlands of flowers on their heads and around their necks, setting the perfect tone for an exciting college life ahead. It was indeed a splendid Freshers’ Party at RCM.

The stage was set on fire with colorful lighting, singing, dancing to DJ music, mimicry, ramp walk and so much more. First-year students Suman Subudhi and Archana Behera were crowned Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher, respectively.

The program was organized on 29th Sept 2019 at RCM open auditorium. Mr. Saroj Dash, National Co-ordinator of Social Organization, Kanyaa Anmol Hai (KAH) was the Chief Guest. KAH works in several areas to uplift underprivileged girls and women. Mr Dash encouraged the students to actively participate with them and motivate others to save, protect, and respect women.

Chairman Dr. Prabir Pal, Dean Academics, Dr. Sanghmitra Pal, and Director, Dr. Pritam Pal were the Guests of Honour.

Dr Prabir Pal advised students to hone their talent and skills and overcome weaknesses to become confident individuals, ready to face challenges that life will throw at them at every step. Dr. Sanghmitra Pal encouraged students to perform as brilliantly in their studies as they had performed that evening and wished them luck for a bright and prosperous future.

The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner complimenting the Hawaiian theme. The Freshers’ Party at RCM was a huge success.

MBA Freshers Party- Jungle Paradise 

“JUNGLE PARADISE” was the theme of the MBA 2018-20 Freshers’ Meet on 21st Sept 2019 at RCM auditorium.

The inaugural function had Chief Guest Dr. Priti Ranjan Majhi, Principal, and Guests of Honour Dr. Sanghmitra Pal and Prof. Biswajit Rout. Second-year students hosted the program and welcomed the guests and freshers with a traditional Ganesh Vandana.

The 2nd-year students created a jungle scene using paintings, posters, and decorative elements to match the theme. The idea behind the theme was that the professional world is a jungle of co-existence, not just competition. Every individual has a role to play in a business environment, making managerial training and skills essential. With proper training, students can peacefully co-exist and create a thriving business ecosystem. 

Dr. Majhi welcomed the new batch, saying an MBA program involves mastering all work spheres and multidimensional growth. Dr. Sanghamitra Gautam said students maximize benefits by eagerly participating and believing in the institution’s passion for innovation.

Prof. Biswajit Rout explained the importance of Financial Management and RCM’s efforts to simplify finance for non-finance students.

The post-lunch session started at 5:30, allowing first-year and second-year students to interact and participate in cultural events. Students engaged in singing, dancing, and drama, creating a fun-filled atmosphere that reflects the RCM learning experience. Chairman Dr. Prabir Pal joined the cultural event and encouraged senior students to mentor and support the newcomers.

BBA Freshers Party- Masquerade Fiesta

Senior BBA students organized the Freshers’ Party, ‘Masquerade Fiesta,’ to welcome the 2019-21 batch on 26th-27th September 2019. During the inaugural session, Chairman Dr. Prabir Pal highlighted RCM as a hub of exposure and immense opportunities. He urged students to seize every opportunity to build a successful future, making it another memorable Freshers’ Party at RCM.

Principal Dr. Priti Ranjan Majhi stressed the importance of strong fundamentals, comparing them to roots that must grow deep for a tree to bear sweet fruits. He encouraged students to turn challenges into opportunities.

Dean of Academics Dr. Sanghmitra Pal described the BBA program as the first stepping stone toward endless opportunities. She assured students that RCM prepares them to be job-ready for the competitive market and wished them success in their journey ahead.

Welcoming the students, Prof. Nitu Dash, HOD, BBA assured all help and advised them to feel free to discuss and seek her guidance on any matter. She asked them to be participative, enthusiastic, and optimistic both towards studies and extra-curricular activities.

The new students played exciting games and engaged in interactive sessions with their experienced peers.. A slideshow introduced them to the campus, faculty, and senior students.

On the evening of September 27th, the cultural event took place at the RCM open auditorium. Embracing the “Masquerade Fiesta” theme, students dressed in elegant attire, their faces half-covered with masks.

They captivated the audience with classical dance, solo and group Bollywood performances, modern dances, singing, drama, a fashion parade, and mimicry. The Freshers’ Party at RCM ended with a delightful dinner for students and faculty.
