Bhubaneswar: There has been a delay in issuing original certificates of class 12 students by the council of higher secondary education (CHSE), as the council is taking time to inspect the data and print the certificates.
The disruption that is created in supplying the original certificates, marksheets and migration certificates to the 12th passed out students this year, it has become difficult for the students to submit original certificates for verification at the time of admission.
Considering this, the higher education department has asked degree colleges to grant students the levy of submitting the self-attested downloaded marksheets along with undertakings during the time of admission.
“The degree colleges will verify the downloaded marksheets submitted by the selected students from the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) website,” stated Rajesh Kumar Sahoo, deputy director, performance tracking cell of the higher education department in a letter to the principal of government and non-government degree colleges.
Sahoo also said that the ICSE/CBSE/ other board students, are selected for admission, are required to submit the downloaded marksheet and certificate appropriately attested by the head of the institution, if their original documents are not yet issued by the concerned board/council. He also added that they will not be prohibited from taking admission.
“Colleges must keep the undertaking regarding submission of original certificates and marksheets within 15 days from the date of admission for the first selection and seven days for second selection from the students who have taken admission. And if they fail to do so, their admission will be cancelled,” declared Sahoo.
“We need to scrutinize the input given by the colleges before printing the certificates. Then we will print it. We hope the certificates can be disbursed among students after a week,” told CHSE chairman Gangadhar Sahoo.
