The NTA’s Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2023 application process ended on April 11. The examination is scheduled to take place from May 21 to May 31. For the upcoming academic session, over 16 lakh candidates have applied for the CUET undergraduate exam. According to an official tweet from UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, the total number of candidates appearing for the examination has increased by 41% over the previous year.
The exam will be given in 13 different languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Depending on the number of candidates and their subject preferences, it will be held over several days and in three different shifts.
CUET 2023: EXAMINATION PATTERN
The exam will be divided into three sections: Section 1A will include 13 languages, Section 1B will include 20 other languages, Section 2 will include 27 domain subjects, and Section 3 will include the general test. Candidates may choose up to ten subjects from all sections.
This year, the number of questions that students must attempt has been reduced. While the exam pattern for sections 1A and 1B remains the same, the number of questions in sections 2 and 3 has been reduced. Section 2 requires 35-40 questions out of 45-50 questions to be attempted, and Section 3 requires 50 questions out of 60 questions to be attempted.
