COVID-19 SOPs For AICTE-Approved Colleges And Universities! 

The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has established guidelines/Standard Operating Procedures (Sops) that must be followed by all its affiliated institutes and universities in a circular. 

Despite a significant decrease in the number of daily COVID-19 cases, the virus remains widespread in the country. As a result, suitable preventative measures and COVID-19 acceptable behaviour are required. 

The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has established guidelines/Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) that must be followed by all its affiliated institutes and universities in a circular. 

To control the pandemic, the government of India has already agreed to repeal the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, effective April 1, 2022. 

COVID-19 Guidelines/Standard Operating Procedures for AICTE-Approved Institutions/Universities :

  • At all access and departure points, thermal screening of students and staff, hygiene, and mask/face cover use should be guaranteed. 
  • Hand washing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers should be made mandatory. 
  • All students and employees must abide by the physical distance guidelines. 
  • Premises and buses must be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. 
  • Students and faculty who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms should be separated and tested. 
  • Students or employees with affected family members should not attend the institution. 
  • Physical education classes will be held in all institutions in accordance with the decisions of the various states/UTs. 
  • Online teaching-learning arrangements should be developed for overseas students who are unable to join the programme owing to travel or visa concerns. 

With a circular official notice to all the Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities and to all directors/principals of AICTE approved Institutions, this announcement has been made and a copy of the same should be attached and notified through all the official websites to all to create awareness about the same and ensure that these guidelines are followed in letter and spirit-signed by DR. Ramesh Unnikrishnan, Advisor-II, Policy & Academic Planning Bureau.
