According to the NTA, the CUET (UG)-2023 would be administered in computer-based test (CBT) mode at various testing locations in 295 cities in India and abroad for around 14.99 lakh candidates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a crucial announcement on Friday regarding the Common University Test (CUET) for admission into undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2023-2024.
Schedule
21 May 2023 to 02 June 2023 and 05 and 06 June 2023 (buffer days will be 07 and 08 June 2023)
Highlights
The CUET (UG) 2023 has been scheduled for 14,99,778 candidates who have opted for 64,35,050 test papers. These individuals submitted applications for 48,779 different topic combinations at 250 Central, State, and other participating universities, institutions, and organisations for the academic year 2023-2024. Candidates whose exams are scheduled for May 21, 22, 23, and 24 have received their admit cards.
Jammu and Kashmir has registered a total of 87309 different candidates. 18012 applicants will appear for the 21, 22, 23, and 24 May 2023 exams in 12 centres in Jammu and Kashmir: 3 in Jammu, 5 in Srinagar, 2 in Baramulla, and 1 each in Samba and Pulwama.
A total of 44425 candidates will appear in 15 newly established centres in Jammu and Kashmir on May 25, 26, 27, and 28. A few contenders have been relocated outside of the state. However, the NTA is looking at the idea of setting up a temporary centre in Srinagar in order to be sensitive to the needs of applicants and to make it easier for Jammu and Kashmir students to access it.
NTA will be able to return the majority of the candidates to the state thanks to this. However because there are so many applicants, some may still need to take the CUET (UG) outside of the state.
Jharkhand
The state of Jharkhand has registered a total of 178,630 candidates. Again, with fantastic growth, a total of 52793 candidates will appear in 19 centres in Jharkhand on May 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2023. A total of 77797 candidates will show up for the May 25, 26, 27, and 28 exams at 14 centres in Jharkhand.
Manipur
A total of 3697 candidates previously chose to take the CUET (UG)-2023 Exam in Manipur. In conjunction with the State Administration, NTA thoroughly examined the law-and-order situation before calling these candidates to find out where they would want to take the test.
Some applicants who were not in Manipur or who desired to sit the exam in another state or city have been sent to other cities, such as Delhi, Guwahati, etc. For applicants from Manipur, changing the centre is still an option. Additionally, the State Administration has directed the NTA to continue holding exams in the State of Manipur starting on May 29, 2023.
