At the Regional College of Management (RCM), Brahmastra is more than just an eventโ€”itโ€™s a celebration of youthful energy, intellectual vibrancy, and competitive spirit. The 2025 edition of Brahmastra brought together students from premier institutions like IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, GIET, SOA, and Trident Academy of Technology, creating an electrifying ecosystem of creativity and competition.

From business simulations to cutting-edge hackathons and a dynamic recruitment expo, Brahmastra 2025 stood as a testament to RCMโ€™s commitment to holistic education and real-world preparedness.

The Bid-to-Win Showdown: Strategy Meets Simulation

The “Bid to Win” competition was a highlight of the event. Participants simulated real-time stock trading and company bidding scenarios. The tension was palpable as teams navigated market fluctuations, strategized their investments, and competed for top positions. A student shared, โ€œI am very excited to see how this bidding round goes. Thereโ€™s so much energy among the participantsโ€”itโ€™s a fierce competition.โ€

The takeaway was clear: decision-making under pressure, financial acumen, and teamwork are indispensable in todayโ€™s business worldโ€”and students got to test all three.

HackForge & MetaWeb: The Future Was Built Here

Partnered with GDG Bhubaneswar and Odisha ML Group, HackForge was a 48-hour hackathon where teams worked tirelessly to bring innovative tech ideas to life. From smart logistics to AI-powered blood donation systems, creativity soared high.

Students from IIT Madras worked on smart logistics, while a team from OUDR built an AI-integrated blood donation platform using Python and React. One participant shared, โ€œItโ€™s lovely to see such an amazing crowd so eager to upskill and contribute meaningfully through technology.โ€

Simultaneously, the MetaWeb UI/UX hackathon witnessed budding designers redefining digital interfaces. โ€œWeb designing is madness,โ€ quipped one enthusiastic student, summing up the high-voltage creative buzz that filled the space.

Management & Tech Quiz: Sharp Minds, Fierce Competition

Dr. Sushmita Das led the Management and Tech Quiz that saw participation from colleges like Trident, Aastha, and Kalinga University. Students faced tough questions across business, economics, and tech domains. The volunteers and digital support teams played a vital role in the success of this quiz marathon.

Recruitment Expo: A Crash Course in Real-world Hiring

On Day 3 of Brahmastra, the HR department hosted the “Recruitment Expo”โ€”a meticulously crafted simulation of the recruitment process. Students played the roles of recruiters, candidates, and judges. This not only tested their interview skills but also gave them exposure to the hiring process from both sides of the table.

Participants had to create interview questions, evaluate resumes, and conduct mock interviews. The expo received praise for offering such hands-on, structured learning. As one faculty member put it, โ€œWe designed this to give students an in-depth understanding of how to crack interviews and evaluate candidates.โ€

SAMVAD-VIVAAD: A Press Meet with a Purpose

In one of Brahmastraโ€™s most thought-provoking segments, SAMVAD-VIVAAD, students simulated a live press meet on controversial societal issues. Judges and audiences alike were impressed by the maturity and clarity shown by participants. โ€œPress meet simulations are rare in Indian campuses,โ€ noted a guest. โ€œIt was a unique experience, and I was honored to receive the third prize in this event.โ€

The format encouraged students to think critically, respond diplomatically, and voice opinions with convictionโ€”essential traits for future leaders and change-makers.

Vishwa Tark Vitark: Diplomacy in Action

RCMโ€™s version of MUN, โ€œVishwa Tark Vitark,โ€ brought together students who passionately debated global issues. The committee simulations showcased the intellectual depth and communication skills of the students. One participant shared, โ€œThe delegations were tremendous. The performance here truly reflects the MUN standard.โ€

NAVYA SOPNA: Start-up Dreams Take Center Stage

Entrepreneurship was at the heart of NAVYA SOPNA, where students presented startup ideas to seasoned investors and mentors. DGM Siddhi, Pradeep Kumar Choudhury, commended the innovation and emphasized the need for strong financial fundamentals and bankability.

โ€œStartup ideas need to resonate with investors. Itโ€™s not just about innovation but also cash flow and scalability,โ€ he advised. The session was packed with practical insights and encouragement for young innovators.

Voices of Impact: From Winners and Guests

The buzz around Brahmastra was not just limited to competitions. Participants shared heartfelt feedback, celebrating their journey through the fest:

  • โ€œWe came for the quiz from IIT Bombay and ended up winning. The event was very well organized.โ€
  • โ€œThe energy at the hackathon was contagious. Everyone was pushing boundaries and learning together.โ€
  • โ€œBrahmastra gave us the opportunity to work with new teams, solve real problems, and present confidently.โ€

Even the faculty and guest speakers were full of praise for the student organizers and RCMโ€™s seamless coordination. Ms. Sugra Mishra and Dr. Sushmita Das applauded the vision behind Brahmastra and the enthusiastic execution that made it unforgettable.

Why Brahmastra Matters

In a world where classroom learning needs to be complemented by experiential learning, Brahmastra fills that crucial gap. Itโ€™s not just a fest; itโ€™s a platform where students test theories in real-world scenarios, challenge their limits, and walk away more prepared for life beyond college.

RCM continues to champion this balance of academics and action, providing students with platforms like Brahmastra to lead, compete, and innovate.
