Both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) applicants may enroll in UGC SWAYAM courses. According to the official announcement, three MOOCs will help India regain its status as a major destination for Buddhist tourism and culture. These include the Abhidhamma (Pali), Buddhist philosophy, and the History of Indian Buddhism.Â
Community Engagement and Social Responsibility is the topic of the fourth MOOC. The announcement stated that as part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) in India, “UGC has also produced a MOOC course on community engagement and social responsibility, which is a significant proposal of NEP 2020.”
Additionally, according to the University Grants Commission regulations for 2021 (Credit Framework for Online Learning Courses through Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), the UGC has asked the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to get these new MOOCs approved and adopted through their statutory bodies.
