The Rath Yatra at the RCM Jagannath Temple has become one of Bhubaneswar’s most cherished and spiritually uplifting events, drawing over 40,000 devotees every year. Since its inception in 2007, following the temple’s inauguration, this vibrant chariot festival has grown into a cultural and religious landmark in the city.
We are proud to share that RCM’s Rath Yatra has been featured in the Times of India, celebrating its legacy of devotion, tradition, and public spirit.

A Festival Rooted in Devotion
As the deities emerge from their sanctum each year, the atmosphere fills with chants, music, and pure devotion. The idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra, carved from sacred wood and modeled like those in the Puri Jagannath Temple, connect devotees with the divine through centuries-old traditions.
The Origins of a Legacy
The vision for the RCM Jagannath Temple came to life through Shri Prabir Pal, chairman of the temple trust, who felt divinely inspired to recreate a spiritual center in Bhubaneswar. After receiving the sacred ‘agyan mala’ at the Puri shrine, he began building the temple that would later become the heart of this revered celebration.
