RCM’s Three-Day Celebration of the 79th Independence Day – A Journey of Patriotism & Pride

At the Regional College of Management (RCM), patriotism isn’t just remembered, it is celebrated with passion, culture, and creativity. This year, the 79th Independence Day was marked with a three-day long and three-tiered celebration from 13th to 15th August 2025. The entire campus transformed into a hub of unity, colours, and national pride. It echoed the theme of Har Ghar Tiranga, Campus Me Tiranga.

Day 1 – A Debate of Minds and Ideas

The celebration began on 13th August with a thought-provoking Debate Competition on the topic “Patriotism lies in action, not just displaying the national flag.” To begin with, UG and PG students passionately voiced their opinions, and as a result, they proved that true patriotism extends far beyond symbolism.

Mrs. Kavita Bhattacharya, along with Prof. Anand Mishra, our in-house faculty, judged the session. In fact, the participants impressed the audience with their strong arguments and clarity of thought. Ultimately, the winners — Swarnika Kutariyar (BBA 2nd Year), Priyanshu Chauhan (MBA 2nd Year), and Nitish (BCA 2nd Year) — emerged as the shining voices of conviction. Consequently, the hall reverberated with applause for every participant’s spirited performance.

Day 2 – Colours, Creativity, and Culture

14th August was a vibrant spectacle as the campus lit up with two major events.

The Rangoli Competition with the theme “Hindustan… Meri Jaan” showcased a riot of colours that painted the spirit of the nation. Kalpita Rout (BBA) & Team clinched the first prize with their breathtaking creation, leaving the audience in awe.

The same day witnessed the Reel Making Competition, where creativity met technology. Satya sundar gochayat (BBA 3rd Year) stole the show with his imaginative reel that beautifully captured the essence of Independence Day.

The evening further blossomed into a cultural bonanza, with soulful patriotic songs, mesmerizing dances, and even heartfelt performances from our professors. The Director and Dean added to the spirit with inspiring speeches. These resonated with the theme of freedom. Sundar Gochayat. The day concluded with everyone standing tall to sing the National Anthem, uniting voices in pride.

Adding a special touch, RCM also extended the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative beyond its campus.RCM proudly distributed national flags, along with placards highlighting the Flag Code of India, to the residents of Maitree Vihar.. This spread awareness about respecting the Tricolour.

Day 3 – The Grand Independence Day Celebration

The final day, 15th August, began with unmatched energy and grandeur. To start with, the celebrations opened with a march past, after which the proud hoisting of the national flag took place. In addition, the presence of the Dean Academics as Chief Guest, along with cheering students, professors, and staff, transformed the event into a moment of unity and unforgettable pride. As a result, when the Tricolour soared high, every heart at RCM swelled with emotion, honour, and the true spirit of freedom.

Celebrating Independence Beyond Boundaries

The 79th Independence Day at RCM wasn’t just about events. It was about instilling values, celebrating culture, and living the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga. From debates and cultural showcases to community outreach and flag hoisting, every moment reflected the essence of unity in diversity.

At Regional College of Management, patriotism is not confined to a day. Instead, it is a way of life, celebrated with creativity, culture, and the eternal spirit of India. 🇮🇳
