The Paris city in France hosted the Olympics for the third time and also this year special arrangements were made to commemorate the centenary of the Paris Olympics held in 1924. The gala extravaganza organized 329 events, arranged for 35 unique venues, 32 different kinds of sports, and 754 sessions (competitions and ceremonies). The event witnessed the scintillating performances of 10, 500 athletes, 20,000 journalists, 45,000 volunteers and also the hospitality of the food management team who served 600, 000 meals in the Olympic village. The official mascot of the event was named โ€œThe Phrygesโ€ and the theme was โ€œLetโ€™s move and celebrateโ€ to motivate and persuade people worldwide to embrace the ecstasy of movement.
