RCM’s Digital Marketing specialization is structured around practical execution from the first semester. Students run live Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns, configure GA4 analytics from scratch, build automation workflows using AI tools, and complete a comprehensive capstone brand strategy project by the final semester. The curriculum is designed so that every module produces a portfolio deliverable — not just a test score. When students graduate, they carry a portfolio of real campaigns, dashboards, and strategic presentations that they can show to recruiters. The theoretical foundation is present, but it always serves as a framework for execution, not a replacement for it.
Both the MBA and PGDM Plus digital marketing specializations at RCM cover the complete digital marketing skill stack — from SEO and performance marketing to AI tools and analytics. The MBA specialization follows a university-affiliated curriculum with a stronger emphasis on strategic leadership, brand management, and corporate marketing. The PGDM Plus, being AICTE-approved and industry-designed, has greater flexibility for faster curriculum updates, more intensive execution modules, and a stronger focus on performance marketing and growth hacking. PGDM Plus graduates tend to enter more specialised performance and growth roles, while MBA graduates are equally competitive for broader marketing leadership tracks.
The AI marketing curriculum at RCM covers tools that are actively used by marketing professionals in 2026: ChatGPT (for strategy, content, and research), Jasper.ai (for ad copy and content at scale), Midjourney (for AI-generated creative assets), n8n and Make.com (for marketing automation workflows), Perplexity (for competitive research), HeyGen and ElevenLabs (for AI video and voice content), and basic ChatGPT API integration for building simple marketing bots. Students don’t just learn what these tools are — they complete projects using them, including building a full AI content workflow and an automation sequence that connects CRM, email, and WhatsApp.
During the PGDM Plus and MBA digital marketing specialization, students are guided to complete: Google Ads Search Certification, Google Analytics (GA4) Certification, Google Ads Display Certification, Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate, Meta Certified Media Buying Professional (optional advanced), LinkedIn Marketing Fundamentals, and HubSpot Content Marketing and Email Marketing certifications. These are completed as part of coursework, not as optional extras. Faculty structure assignments around certification exam preparation, so students enter the job market with credentials, not just skills.
AI marketing at RCM is not a single module — it is an integrated thread across the entire specialization. Students learn AI tools and their marketing applications progressively from Semester 1 through Semester 4. By the end of the program, students have built AI content workflows, automated marketing sequences, used AI for SEO and PPC optimization, and created AI-generated creative assets. There is also a dedicated AI-Powered Marketing track within the MBA specialization for students who want to position themselves specifically as AI marketing specialists — one of the fastest-growing and highest-paying niches in digital marketing.
Performance marketing is the discipline of running digital campaigns where every rupee of spend is directly attributable to a measurable outcome — a lead, a sale, an app install, or a subscription. It covers Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, programmatic advertising, conversion tracking, attribution modelling, and ROAS optimization. General digital marketing encompasses this plus SEO, content marketing, email, branding, and strategy. RCM’s specialization covers both — you understand the full digital marketing landscape while developing deep expertise in performance and analytics, which is where the highest entry-level salaries in digital marketing currently sit.

Entry-level salaries for RCM digital marketing specialization graduates vary by program and role. MBA graduates entering performance marketing or analytics roles typically receive packages in the ₹5.5L–₹9L range as freshers. PGDM Plus graduates in growth and automation roles enter at ₹6L–₹12L. BBA graduates in social media and content roles start at ₹2.5L–₹4.5L and progress quickly. Graduates entering high-demand roles like AI marketing specialist or performance marketing manager command salaries at the higher end of these ranges.
Yes. Internship placement is a structured component of the specialization. Between Year 1 and Year 2 (MBA/PGDM), an 8-week summer internship is mandatory. The Placement Cell actively sources internships with partner agencies, D2C brands, startups, and corporates. BBA students complete internships in alternate summers. Students are also encouraged to freelance or work on client projects during the program — and the curriculum is designed to generate portfolio work that makes them immediately internship-ready from Semester 2. Several students convert their internships into pre-placement offers before final placement season.
RCM digital marketing specialization graduates are recruited by: performance marketing agencies, D2C brands, e-commerce companies, EdTech platforms, FMCG digital marketing departments, SaaS and FinTech companies, healthcare brands, startups, and marketing consulting firms. The full-stack training makes graduates versatile — they can enter agency roles (which value execution speed and tool proficiency) or corporate roles (which value strategic thinking and analytics capability). Graduates also frequently pursue freelancing or entrepreneurship, with the portfolio and tools to start generating revenue independently.
By Semester 2 of the PGDM Plus or MBA, students are already managing live campaigns with real budgets. By graduation — two years from enrolment — they are fully equipped for entry-level performance marketing roles. With a live campaign portfolio, Google Ads certification, and Meta certification in hand, most RCM graduates secure performance marketing roles within 30–90 days of graduation. The skills that typically take 12–18 months to develop on the job are compressed into the program itself.
Yes. RCM’s Placement Cell has a dedicated digital and technology industry vertical that actively engages with agencies, startups, e-commerce companies, and corporate marketing departments for both internship and final placement. This includes organising Digital Marketing Job Fairs, agency visits, and mock placement rounds specifically for digital marketing specialization students. Students also receive portfolio review support from industry mentors before placement season, ensuring their campaign work and projects are presented in the most recruiter-relevant format.
Digital marketing specialization graduates consistently outperform general MBA graduates in time-to-placement and starting salary within the digital and growth sectors. A general MBA prepares you for broad management; a digital marketing MBA prepares you for specific, high-demand roles with clear career progression. The digital marketing industry grows at 25% CAGR — meaning salary and opportunity growth is built into the sector itself. Graduates who enter with a portfolio command 20–40% premium offers over candidates from programs without practical execution components.

Absolutely. RCM’s digital marketing specialization welcomes engineers, science graduates, arts graduates, and commerce graduates equally. Digital marketing is one of the few management domains where academic background is less important than skills and portfolio strength. In fact, engineers who choose digital marketing specializations often excel in analytics, automation, and AI tools due to their technical aptitude. The curriculum builds from fundamentals — assuming no prior marketing knowledge — and progressively advances to strategic and technical mastery. The only prerequisite is willingness to learn, execute, and build a real portfolio.
Yes. RCM provides fully managed hostel accommodation for both male and female students from outside Bhubaneswar. The campus is located in a safe, well-connected area of Bhubaneswar with easy access to the city’s growing startup and corporate ecosystem. Hostel residents benefit from dedicated study spaces, internet connectivity, and proximity to industry events and corporate visits organised by RCM throughout the academic year.
The digital marketing specialization fee is integrated into the overall program fee for MBA, PGDM Plus, or BBA. RCM does not charge additional specialization fees for this track. The overall program fee structure is available at rcm.ac.in/admissions. Merit scholarships, SC/ST fee concessions, and education loan facilitation through banking partners are available. Early applicants are given priority in scholarship consideration. Please contact the admissions office for a complete fee breakup and scholarship eligibility assessment.
Yes. While the depth of AI tool training is greater in the MBA and PGDM Plus tracks, BBA students are introduced to AI tools including ChatGPT for marketing, Canva AI, and basic automation concepts. The more advanced AI specialization tools are fully available for motivated BBA students who want to accelerate through optional advanced workshops and tool labs available on campus throughout the academic year.
The digital marketing specialization is selected during program enrolment — not as a separate application. To access this specialization, you first apply for and are admitted to the MBA, PGDM Plus, or BBA program at RCM. During the admission process, you indicate your specialization preference. Specialization allocation is based on preference + merit, and most digital marketing seats go to students who express early interest. To begin: apply at rcm.ac.in/admissions, indicate Digital Marketing as your specialization preference, and discuss it during your Personal Interview round.
Side-by-side comparison of MBA vs PGDM Plus vs BBA with salary data and track details.
A standalone digital marketing certification teaches tools. RCM’s specialization teaches how to use those tools to drive business outcomes — with the added credential of an MBA, PGDM Plus, or BBA degree from a NAAC A+ accredited institution. The degree provides credibility for corporate and senior roles where certifications alone are not sufficient. The specialization provides hands-on execution skills that standalone programs promise but often don’t deliver because they lack the structured project environment, industry mentorship, placement machinery, and curriculum depth that a full-time institutional program provides.
Digital marketing specialization graduates consistently outperform general MBA graduates in time-to-placement and starting salary within the digital and growth sectors. A general MBA prepares you for broad management; a digital marketing MBA prepares you for specific, high-demand roles with clear career progression. The digital marketing industry grows at 25% CAGR. Graduates who enter with a portfolio command 20–40% premium offers over candidates from programs without practical execution components. The salary trajectory in digital marketing is also steeper — mid-level roles reach ₹9L–₹22L within 2–5 years.
Google and Meta certifications are part of what RCM graduates complete — they’re included in the curriculum. But certifications alone answer the question “do you know how to use the tool?” A degree + portfolio answers the question “can you drive measurable business outcomes with it?” RCM graduates carry both: the certifications that establish baseline credibility, and the live campaign portfolio that demonstrates real execution. For roles that ask for 1–2 years of experience, the portfolio fills that gap entirely.
Bhubaneswar is one of India’s fastest-growing cities for IT and digital services — and RCM’s placement network extends well beyond Odisha into major metros including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Pune. Hostel accommodation is provided. The quality of the digital marketing specialization — live campaigns, AI tools, and the placement machinery behind it — is the consideration, not the geography. Many of RCM’s most successful digital marketing alumni came from outside Odisha and are now placed in metro cities.
