In a notification, the Department of Higher Education announced that all classroom teaching for UG and PG in all higher education institutions will remain suspended from April 27, 2022.

Reportedly, all classroom teaching will be suspended from April 27 (tomorrow) till May 2, 2022 in view of the prevailing heat wave condition.

Other activities of higher education institutions (HEIs), such as examinations, evaluation, administrative work, research work, and so on, will, however, continue as usual.

The official letter stated that “teaching and non-teaching employees are required to remain present in their respective HEIs, as in the case of a normal working day, to perform the above-mentioned activities or any other activity assigned to them by their authority during this period.”

On Monday, the Odisha government announced the closure of all schools in the state for a period of five days starting today.

“After careful consideration, the government has been pleased to suspend classes at all educational institutions under the S&ME Department, i.e., Government, Government-aided, and privately managed (Odia and English medium) from 26.04.2022 to 30.04.2022 (except for the examinations already scheduled by BSE and CHSE),” read a letter issued by the School and Mass Education Department.

Despite the closure of schools, the upcoming matriculation or class 10 and +2 board examinations will be held as per schedule, the notification added.
