Around 85% of examinees were present on the first day of this year’s Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE Exam), held on Monday. On the first day, the candidates appeared for lateral entry to B.Tech (LE Tech Diploma). The exams will continue till Friday.
“Though altogether 19,150 candidates had registered for the first day’s exam, 16,270 of them attended it. We have recorded 85% turnout on the first day,” said OJEE chairman S.K. Chand.
The OJEE Exam is being conducted in three shifts every day. While the first shift continues from 9am-11am, the second shift runs between 12:30pm- 2:30pm. The last shift begins at 4pm and ends at 6pm. “This computer-based test is conducted like the JEE Main. Around 58,000 students are appearing for the tests in 61 centers, covering all 30 districts. Exam centers have also been arranged in Kolkata, Ranchi, and Patna” he added.
Chand said they have taken all precautions, suggested by the government, at the exam centres in view of the rising Covid-19 cases.
