The Throwball (Women) tournament at Brahmastra 2025 was a vibrant display of teamwork, agility, and competitive spirit. Teams from various colleges participated, showcasing their coordination and strategic gameplay.
Matches were played in a best-of-three sets format, with each set played to 15 points using rally scoring. The final match was an exception, played to 21 points. The atmosphere was electric, with spectators cheering for their favorites, and players displaying remarkable sportsmanship and determination.
The event not only highlighted individual talents but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among participants.
Event Highlights
- Team Composition: 10 players per team (7 active players and 3 substitutes)
- Players must catch the ball with both hands and return it with one hand only
- The serving player must release the ball from above the shoulder/shoulder line
- Double touches are not allowed when receiving the service ball
- Players must maintain a 2-3-2 position during service
- Shifting the ball from right to left or loft to right results in penalty points
- Each set allows two 30-second timeouts
- Players must wear proper uniforms with numbered jerseys (1-12) on the front side
- Simultaneous catching by two players results in point loss for the team
