On April 25, 2025, the Echotorium at the Regional College of Management (RCM), Bhubaneswar, pulsated with energy as CYPHER – The Dance Battle unfolded during Brahmastra 2025. This electrifying event brought together dancers from various institutions, showcasing their talent, creativity, and passion for dance.
Event Highlights
The event featured:
- A preliminary round where each participant had 1 minute to impress the judges.
- Selection of the top 16 dancers by the judges, followed by audience participation to narrow down to the top 8.
- A ‘7 to Smoke’ battle format from the top 8 onwards, intensifying the competition.
- Judging criteria focused on musicality, difficulty of movements, style, execution, originality, creativity, and synchronization with beats.
- Strict rules prohibiting foul language, inappropriate gestures, crossing the designated battle line, and physical contact between participants.
- A vibrant atmosphere amplified by DJ ROSH’s dynamic music and emcee NEXUS’s engaging commentary.
- Esteemed dancer Mantu Raj gracing the event as the judge, adding prestige to the competition.
- Cash prizes of ₹10,000 for the winner and ₹6,000 for the runner-up, along with trophies recognizing their exceptional performances.
